The pier in Kołobrzeg, also known as the reinforced concrete pier, is one of the unique architectural objects in Poland, located in the Spa District of the city. It is situated along Mickiewicza Street, next to the Bałtyk sanatorium and the Jan Szymański boulevard, near the Stefan Żeromski Park (spa park).
The first pier structure, located by the Strandschloß sanatorium (Beach Castle, Coastal Palace), was built in 1881. It was a wooden structure in the shape of a T, about one hundred meters long, with a marina for small sailing ships at its end. Unfortunately, the historical pier was destroyed during World War II.
The current pier, officially opened on June 19, 1971, is 220 meters long and 9 meters wide. The walking deck is situated about 4.5 meters above sea level. At the end of the pier, there is a two-level head that can serve as a marina for small cruise ships.
